Laura Hirsch doesn't proclaim to be a grief counselor, spiritual healer, or any kind of mental health professional. She was widowed young, just like many of the people who will read her book. Her expertise on this subject comes from the School of Life. She has taken an unconventional path toward grief therapy by consulting spiritual mediums to contact her late husband on the other side in order to answer her questions and to help her find peace with her loss. It was in one of these readings that she was told she would write a book for other young widows. She has a true passion to help others go through the same tragedy that she has endured.

Laura Hirsch grew up in Mukwonago, WI, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1989 with a degree in Speech Communications. She lived in the suburbs of Chicago for five years with her late husband, Darren. She now resides in the Reno, NV area.
